Job Title: Engineering Manager - Support Engineering (Training Services)

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading teams that analyse the Engineering training needs of the RN crew and the BAES production and test & commissioning delivery teams
  • Shaping the culture of the team and ensuring they are fully supported, engaged and performing to high standard
  • Enabling the team to perform, creating the dynamics for effective team performance, including flow of communications, mentoring, influencing organisational design & ways of working
  • Supporting the training requirements derivation & training needs analysis on programmes of work, including current and future Submarines programmes
  • Business continuity management , including establishing training needs within the team
  • People manager responsibilities, from line management to performance development, progression & succession planning

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Experience in delivering training services within the Defence Industry and other Industries
  • DSAT Qualification held
  • Demonstrable familiarity of Project Management and delivery of training needs analysis capability in a similar background/industry
  • Leadership Experience
  • Leading of Training Services Teams

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or other relevant professional affiliation

The Specialist Engineering Technology Group, Training Services team

This is an expanding capability within the business and there is opportunity to deliver training services across the full life cycle of our products (cradle to grave), therefore we are looking for someone that can build the capability and grow the organisation.

You will have direct influence over the training services capability within Engineering, with potential to grow in your role, and make this your own through strategic development. You will be influencing delivery/development for both now and the future, developing & shaping the landscape.

We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
