Position Summary

Metrea is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to help lead two teams that build software solutions providing geospatial data processing and visualization.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Mentoring, coaching and leading a teams of highly talented engineers, taking responsibility for both their career and personal development.
  • Conducting regular catch-ups and check-ins with the team to support day-to-day engineering activities.
  • Supporting product management and technical leadership in refining requirements and shaping deliverables the team will work on.
  • Helping to align team efforts with broader strategic goals, planning for future resource requirements and technology adoption.
  • Developing and maintaining a deep relationship with the team’s Tech Lead and Product Manager to ensure alignment and delivery support.
  • Collaborating with other Engineering Leaders to improve engineering processes, code quality, release management and documentation.
  • Supporting the recruitment process and onboarding new teammates.

Skills And Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in software development teams, with experience in micro-service architectures, React and C# tech stacks.
  • Significant experience in engineering management, mentoring and developing software engineers, designers and testers.
  • Experience with agile methodologies in software development within a matrix organisation.
  • A passion for personal development and ongoing learning.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, plan, prioritise and manage workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a servant-leadership mindset and the ability to communicate technical content to non-technical stakeholders.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On-call and overtime may be required as needed.
