Enterprise Architect: Data & AI – Rolls‑Royce

Location: Derby – Hybrid

Type: Full‑time

Overview: Join an evolving Enterprise Architecture practice that delivers the most efficient combinations of technology, processes, data and applications to enable Rolls‑Royce to execute its vision, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the technology strategy for the Data & AI layers of the Enterprise Architecture model, incorporating data platforms, big data, and public cloud
  • Own the 5‑year roadmap of investments for Data & AI, including indicative costs, timescales, and development of supporting business case
  • Communicate capable Reference Architectures and other Architecture Building Blocks (ABB) for use in the design and delivery of solutions
  • Identify new technologies and products for exploitation across the enterprise and opportunities for optimisation
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Digital & IT Solution Teams, IT Security and outsourced service providers to enable the execution of the strategy

Qualifications

  • Proven IT Architecture experience with a track record in establishing and maturing a Data Architecture domain
  • Extensive experience building enterprise‑scale data and AI capabilities across a global estate
  • Strong domain knowledge of Data & AI, including familiarity with cloud data and AI platforms (e.g. MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and complex problem‑solving skills
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF, DAMA‑DMBOK, or similar frameworks is a plus
