Environmental Water Quality Consultant / Senior Consultant (Marine Modelling)

We are looking for an experienced water quality modeller to join our multidisciplinary team at Stantec. The role is based in one of our UK offices (Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Manchester).

The Opportunity
Join a welcoming and dynamic team working on innovative projects across the water, energy and infrastructure sectors. You will collaborate with water companies and stakeholders to develop sustainable water and wastewater solutions, applying integrated water cycle approaches.

About You
- Degree qualified in science, mathematics or engineering, with postgraduate qualifications and/or experience in the water industry.
- Working towards or already a chartered member of a recognised professional institution.
- At least one water quality modelling software (MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac, AEM3D) applied in estuarine, marine or coastal systems.
- Understanding of physico‑chemical water quality, regulatory standards for fresh and marine waters.
- Basic coding skills in Python or R.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver technically sound quantitative models to support project delivery.
  • Author and review technical evidence‑led reports, ensuring compliance with QA processes.
  • Provide timely technical input to multidisciplinary projects and programmes.
  • Build client relationships and drive continuous development of services across the UK Water sector.
  • Mentor junior staff and strengthen cross‑discipline relationships.
