Events Manager

Digital Catapult is seeking anEventsManagerto join its Marketing, Communications, and Events team. Reporting to the Head of Events,you’llplan and deliver a range of internal and external events—physical, virtual, and hybrid—aligned with organisational goals. The role involves coordinatinglogistics, shaping content, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience while working closely with internal teams and external partners.You’llmanage multiple projects under tight deadlines, requiring strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
- Work collaboratively with programme teams to define,createand produce a portfolio of events in one or more of our working areas to meet our strategicobjectivesandcome up withsuggestions to enhance events success
- Manage events execution holistically, ensuring that event content and agenda meet theobjectivesandlogisticsrun seamlessly and resolve any issues arising to ensure high customer satisfaction and/or escapein a timely mannerto the Head of Events (if needed)
- Coordinate the day-to-day running of events, including but not limited to room setup, managing delegate registrations, speakers’ management, catering, overlooking audio-visual delivery, event visuals and materials, client relations, delegates’ engagement and feedback and impact capture and measurement
- Ensure that hosted or co-hosted events are relevant to the Digital Catapult and the Events Team strategies, making sure they meet the requirements, target audience,objectivesand add value
- Handle catering orders and budget,additionalstaffing rotas,rolesand responsibilities on the day of the managed event and coordinate work of various event suppliers (ifrequired)
- Experience in and passion for operational delivery in both physical and virtual event settings
- High expectationsof quality and seamless service delivery with a strategic thinking approach, an agilemind-setand hands-on skills
- Understanding of the importance of event content anda holistic approachto event design and execution
- Willingness to work flexibly, and outside of normal office hours, as part of a team, often working on early morning or late evening events
- Ideally educated to degree level in events management or qualified by experience, as well as knowledge of DDA compliance and event health and safety, would also beadvantageous
