Finance Business Partner - Operations (Hybrid) - Wolverhampton

We are seeking a highly driven and professionally qualified Finance Business Partner - Operations to join our team, focusing on a multi-brand, multi-site manufacturing operation. This pivotal role brings value and clarity by acting as the key link between Finance and Operations, driving financial awareness, and delivering clear, accurate, and timely financial insights to support the company’s strategic and operational objectives across the region.

  • Salary: £55k-£65k
  • Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
  • Reporting to: EMEAA Operations Senior Finance Business Partner

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of operational finance, from strategic partnering to robust reporting and compliance.

  • Operations Business Partnering:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and meet operational finance reporting needs, providing clear communication and alignment.
  • Actively support manufacturing areas by identifying and driving cost control measures and ensuring adherence to forecasts.
  • Assist in the definition and measurement of key operational KPIs and their drivers across multiple sites.
  • Reporting & Close Processes:
  • Efficiently complete month-end close processes, including account reconciliation, transaction review, and preparing operational financial statements to ensure timely and informed decision-making.
  • Conduct accurate year-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Forecasting & Compliance:
  • Generate and communicate forecast updates, clearly articulating the impact on site profitability.
  • Assist with the annual Standard Cost revaluation and support annual stocktake activities at multiple sites.
  • Support and submit documentation for Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs).
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify and fix issues, working to find robust solutions to complex financial and operational problems.

What You Will Already Have (Essential)

You must be a qualified professional with a proactive, assertive attitude and a track record of success in manufacturing finance.

  • Qualifications: Professional Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Experience:
  • Proven success in an operational finance role, with a history of influencing, motivating, and participating in teams to produce high-quality reporting under tight timeframes.
  • Experience assisting with annual stocktakes and standard costing processes is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), ERP systems, and reporting tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong business presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to see the big picture while managing detailed project delivery.
  • Assertive approach, prepared to challenge the status quo, see plans through, and overcome objections.
  • Work Ethic: Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously while working at pace to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel between sites in the UK as required.
