Overview
Finance Team Leader - Accounts Receivable & Rents at Notting Hill Genesis. Lead a team of finance officers to ensure accurate and timely processing of rental income and sales ledger income.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounts receivable and rents team; train, assign tasks and monitor performance in a collaborative environment.
- Oversee accounts receivable activities: invoicing, credit notes, payments, and adherence to procedures and financial regulations.
- Allocate rental income and Housing Benefit payments to residents’ accounts and post accurately and within deadlines; investigate anomalies and ensure compliance.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies or escalate as appropriate.
- Prepare KPI reports for senior management and review weekly performance indicators with the Senior Finance Officer.
- Manage queries and adjustments within agreed SLAs; address internal and external enquiries and resolve disputes with appropriate escalation.
- Support service improvement and ensure deadlines are met; provide senior-level advice as required.
- Manage, develop, appraise and performance-manage staff to motivate high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations from financial analysis to management; ensure internal controls and assist in audits with documentation.
- Establish and maintain credit policies and procedures; stay up to date with Notting Hill Genesis policies, health and safety and financial regulations.
- Prepare for and participate in audits; establish hybrid working arrangements (minimum three days in the office; some work-from-home days possible).
- Deputise for the Finance Operations Manager AR; act as super user for AR in Microsoft D365.
Ideal Candidate

- Part/fully qualified CCAB or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in accounts payable with some supervisory or leadership experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse complex data and present to senior management.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; ability to lead and motivate a team.
