Overview

We're looking for a proactive and collaborative Financial Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving informed decision-making across the business. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, delivering timely internal reports, and supporting strategic initiatives through budgeting, forecasting, and insightful ad hoc analysis. You will serve as a key liaison between finance and other business functions, helping to manage budgets, build business cases, and improve processes to deliver sharper insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with budget holders and senior management; act as the first line of support to the business on financial matters.
  • Partner with key business functions to drive commercial benefit.
  • Interpret and analyse financial and non-financial information, alongside KPIs, as part of management reporting.
  • Continuously improve financial controls and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the business to produce robust financial forecasts and annual budgets aligned with the Group timetable; support divisional reporting, annual budgets, quarterly reforecasting, and actual reporting including journal calculation and posting.
  • Provide commercially oriented financial support to budget holders and department heads to help achieve financial objectives.
  • Support the month-end process for divisional areas to ensure a clear and accurate financial position and prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the Accounts Payable team in the end-to-end payment approval process.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to assist with decision making.
  • Administer the Management Accounting Systems and provide financial information to support divisions with their financial plans and decision making.
  • Execute additional tasks as required to meet changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to maintain high standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • DBS check required; level determined by activity of the specific job role in line with legislation and government guidance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Experience of cost centre accounting, business partnering, financial planning and commercial support.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Collaborative team player with ability to build relationships across teams/divisions.
  • Proactive in identifying ways to improve/optimise financial processes for efficiency and quality of output.
  • Good communication skills and relationship management.
  • Experience leading month-end preparation and managing accounting processes (as per Key Accountabilities).
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across the business (financial and non-financial) and managing external finance stakeholders.
  • Technical skills: extensive experience with Excel; high numeracy; ability to create presentations and present to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Beneficial: experience with Proactis, Great Plains, Anaplan and Smartsheet.
