Our client is a dynamic, rapidly‑growing HR Tech SaaS business, working with numerous large global brands and well funded by VCs to fuel their continued growth plans. With many exciting initiatives in the pipeline, this is an exciting time to join the business. They are currently seeking an ambitious, commercially minded FC to join their UK team to join them on their growth journey.

Role

As FC, you will report into the CFO and with three direct reports, you will manage the day‑to‑day finances with autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth running of the day‑to‑day accounting function, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and board pack including SaaS KPIs
  • Preparation of annual budget & monthly financial and cashflow forecasts
  • Business partnering with different teams
  • Manage statutory reporting e.g. prepare VAT returns
  • Liaise with third party accountants for preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings
  • Manage statutory filings with Companies House and HMRC in conjunction with the Companys accountants
  • Customer contract management
  • Supervision and development of one accountant, an FP&A manager and a general administrator

Candidate

You will be an all‑rounder commercial, proactive and comfortable working across all aspects of a fast‑moving, growing business. From helping to produce and challenge forecasts to getting into the detail of figures, you’ll combine technical expertise with a hands‑on, can‑do attitude.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with in‑house experience
  • Experience in a similar role within a similar sized operation (ARR c.£6.0m), ideally in a SaaS/tech business
  • Experience of working in a VC or PE‑backed business preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Xero and Excel modelling techniques
  • Exposure to M&A an advantage
  • Ability to analyse business performance and write clear, concise commentary
  • High level of attention to detail; organised and trustworthy
  • A safe pair of hands, able to support the business through a period of continued growth
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Experience of managing a finance function with minimal supervision, to statutory and internal deadlines
  • Cultural awareness and strong influencing skills
  • A great team player with a flexible approach
  • Enthusiastic and self‑motivated
  • A positive, can‑do attitude with heaps of initiative
  • Knowledge of Maxio billing and Mosaic (now HiBob Finance) MI platforms advantageous

Terms

The role is offered on a part or full time basis seeking a minimum of 4 days per week. The supervisory nature of the role requires a minimum of 2‑3 days per week in the offices based in Milton Keynes with the balance worked remotely.

A salary of circa £75k-£80k is on offer together with share options (depending on experience). Benefits include a holiday allowance of 24 days plus bank holidays, statutory pension and healthcare.
