Job Summary

The ‘Controller- Reporting’ will be the go-to technical accounting expert within the Reporting and Ops team. The individual will be accountable for all group reporting requirements and supporting the end-to-end external audit process. The individual will be expected to have a working understanding of the full balance sheet and P&L and the ability to challenge and probe others (including senior finance team members) on accounting treatment in order to ensure the integrity of reported numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship with the Group Reporting function including continuously improving the quality and detail of the submissions and schedules to the Group Finance functions and be responsible for driving for on-time resolution of all queries.
  • Support in the management of the audit process: acting as a key liaison for the auditors; coordinating audit deliverables and working with the rest of the team to ensure all relevant deadlines are met.
  • Have a working understanding across the whole balance sheet and P&L in order to ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied. Challenge and obtain more detail from others where necessary.
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers to address items such as provisions/judgements, implementation of new accounting standards, dividends etc.
  • Maintenance of key SOX controls relating to Reporting, including local GAAP to US GAAP checks.
  • Help to ensure financial systems and processes are developed and maintained and participate in projects and complete as hoc tasks, as and when required.
  • Responsible for leading key monthly management meetings and deliverables.
  • Support in the financial review of new contracts.
