My client is seeking a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their Water Services team in Newcastle. You will be trained by an experienced team to work on a diverse range of projects, including waterfront developments, trunk road schemes, rail infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer eager to develop design skills, contribute to complex projects, and thrive in a supportive environment.

As a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing flood protection solutions, drainage systems, SuDS, and watercourse structures.
  2. Developing drainage strategies and designs using Infodrainage and Flow software.
  3. Conducting Flood Risk Assessments.
  4. Contributing to river modelling, coastal flood risk assessments, and climate change resilience projects.
  5. Completing projects related to water supply and drainage infrastructure.
  6. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.

Candidates should have a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and ideally be working towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or CIWEM. Experience working for a UK-based consultancy specializing in drainage strategy and design using AutoCAD, Infodrainage, Causeway Flow, or Civils 3D is also required.

The role requires residence near Newcastle, as you will work from the office on a hybrid basis.
