AKT (pronounced “act”) is The Personal Performance Company with multi award-winning body care that may change your life. Founded by West End stars Ed Currie and Andy Coxon, AKT is by and for those who are “Born to Perform” — on the stage, at work, or in life.
In 2020, The Deodorant Balm made its stunning debut to rave reviews and awards from Vogue, GQ, Esquire, and Harper’s BAZAAR. Plastic-free, aluminium-free, and gender-free, The Deodorant Balm instantly resonated with those looking for a natural deodorant that genuinely worked. Five fragrances and over 700,000 happy armpits later, The Deodorant Balm is already becoming a household name.
About The Role
As FP&A Manager you will act as a key strategic partner through the provision of critical financial insights, robust forecasting and commercial analysis. You will establish and lead the Financial Planning & Analysis function at AKT which will support the company’s rapid international scaling and drive profitable growth. This is a highly visible role that will work cross-functionally, liaising closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Founders, and department heads across the business. You will be the go-to person for understanding "the why" behind the numbers. The operating environment is a fast-paced, high-growth, international D2C business, requiring a proactive and hands-on approach. Travel is not a regular requirement, aside from attending monthly team days in the London office.
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead the end-to-end management of the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and providing a clear view of future performance.
- Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain the company’s core 3-statement financial model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and ability to support scenario planning for strategic decision-making.
- Commercial Business Partnering: Act as the primary finance partner for key budget holders across Marketing, Operations, and E-commerce, providing them with actionable insights to optimise spend, improve ROI, and manage their departmental budgets effectively.
- Performance Analysis: Deliver insightful analysis of monthly financial results, investigating variances against budget and forecast, and communicating key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities to the leadership team.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee detailed cash flow forecasting to ensure the business is managing its working capital efficiently to support its ambitious growth plans and inventory requirements.
- Strategic Support: Analyse the financial viability of key strategic initiatives, such as new market entries (US, AUS, EU), new product development (NPD), and significant capital investments, providing recommendations to guide leadership decisions.
- Reporting Enhancement: Design and implement scalable and insightful management reporting packs, dashboards, and KPI tracking to provide the business with greater visibility of commercial performance.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within finance by identifying opportunities to automate reporting, enhance modelling capabilities, and implement best-practice FP&A processes that can scale with the business.
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a dedicated FP&A or commercial finance role.

- Advanced financial modelling skills, with the ability to build and manage complex 3-statement models from scratch in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Demonstrable experience in business partnering with non-finance stakeholders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude, comfortable with ambiguity and building processes in a scale-up environment.
- Experience with FP&A tools such as Causal, Abacum, DataRails, Pigment. Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and modern ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience with international business operations (multi-currency, transfer pricing) is a significant advantage.
