Salary: £37,500 - £46,215 depending on location and contract. Hours: Full-time, hybrid, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. About The Role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people’s daily lives and ability to work. You’ll carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You’ll work independently, but you’ll also be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning. Responsibilities

  • Carry out functional assessments (face-to-face and via video or phone), including taking medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
  • Contribute to high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate, empathetic assessment processes.

About You

You’ll be a qualified healthcare professional with empathy, clinical insight, and a commitment to delivering excellent service. Key attributes include:

  • A registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, or Mental Health Nurse with at least 12 months’ post-registration UK experience
  • Strong clinical decision-making and understanding of functional assessment
  • Effective communication skills to build trust and ask the right questions
  • Digital capability with experience using clinical software and systems
  • Self-motivation, organization, and a focus on quality and integrity
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues
