A Little More About Your Role
You will support multidisciplinary projects across Water, Energy, Earth and Environment, driving digital transformation and advancing WSP's geospatial capabilities. Working within the Environmental Consents team, you will deliver projects related to climate change adaptation, renewable energy, resilient infrastructure, water management, Development Consent Orders (DCO) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). You will prepare and manage digital data from various sources, conduct spatial analysis, and produce intuitive web applications and supporting figures. Your work will be delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard, consistently exceeding client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality GIS deliverables, spatial analysis and data management using ArcGIS Pro and ETL tools.
- Champion digital project delivery through innovative web GIS platforms and applications, leveraging ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Ensure data integrity by managing and validating data capture from in‑house and third‑party sources, including designing local and enterprise geodatabases.
- Produce GIS outputs that meet established standards, scope and budget while achieving exceptional quality and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored geospatial solutions.
- Share knowledge, ideas and innovations to strengthen the technical capability of the GIS team.
- Help shape efficient working practices that deliver industry‑leading, best‑value services to clients.
- Provide GIS expertise across the business wherever needed.
- Commit to continuous professional development to stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Travel occasionally to other offices for business development and project meetings.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong understanding of GIS principles and data management, with the ability to apply them across diverse sectors.
- Proven experience in desktop and web GIS, including Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience configuring ArcGIS web applications such as Experience Builder, Dashboards, 3D scenes, Survey123 and Field Maps.
- Skilled in building and automating workflows with FME Form (desktop).
- Highly proficient in managing spatial data using File Geodatabases (FGDB) and Enterprise Geodatabases (EGDB), with demonstrable experience maintaining data access and integrity.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for delivering quality and adding value through GIS.
- Familiarity with publishing workflows to FME Flow (server) for enterprise‑level automation.
- Working knowledge of scripting and development languages such as Arcade, Python, JavaScript and SQL.
- Awareness of DCOs and EIAs, and how GIS enables digital delivery and informed decision‑making.
