This role is an amazing opportunity to drive our Geospatial development across the whole of the organisation, enabling our colleagues to deliver our challenging environmental ambitions. We’re looking for an experienced GIS strategic thinker with a proven record of effective delivery. Our ideal candidate will combine a strong drive to modernise with a passion for improving the environment. Supporting the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader, you’ll be one of two technical leads for the team. This involves working with colleagues across the EA, DEFRA and external partners to evolve our Geospatial Services. You’ll also work with our excellent service leads to coordinate delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader; be one of two technical leads for the team.
  • Work with colleagues across the EA, DEFRA and external partners to evolve Geospatial Services and coordinate delivery with service leads.
  • Deliver Geospatial Services using tools such as Easimap, ArcGIS Pro, EAMaps, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
  • Manage access to ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and contribute to a joined-up, well-managed, modern suite of corporate geospatial services.

Team and Tools

The National GIS Team provides Geospatial services and leads their use within the EA. Tools include Easimap, in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcGIS Pro, EAMaps (ArcGIS Enterprise), and AGOL.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Experience of delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services
  • Evidence of ability to set a strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery
  • Ability to work with a wide range of customers and partners
  • Experience of working with ESRI products
