Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Reporting Manager to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). This high-impact role involves leading external reporting and management information for a listed organisation, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and providing clear financial insights to support senior decision-makers. Traveling to the London office occasionally (approximately 4–6 times per year) will be required. The role is based in Glasgow / Hybrid (3 days office-based per week).

This position provides an opportunity to drive system improvements and strengthen financial controls while partnering with colleagues across finance, operations, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver external financial reporting in line with regulatory and listing requirements, including statutory accounts, interim statements, and annual reports.
  • Produce and present monthly board packs, management accounts, variance analysis, and key performance metrics.
  • Drive improvements within ERP/finance systems, ensuring robust processes and strong internal controls.
  • Manage group consolidation processes, including intercompany reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Coordinate external audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Monitor developments in financial reporting standards (IFRS) and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support tax compliance activities (VAT and corporation tax) in partnership with external advisors.
  • Contribute to ad hoc strategic projects such as acquisitions, financing initiatives, and working capital reviews.
  • Communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Group Accountant.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings to review progress and development.
  • Identify training needs and create opportunities for skills growth within the team.
  • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining oversight of quality and deadlines.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused culture across the finance function.

About You

  • ACA-qualified (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
  • Solid IFRS expertise and hands-on preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Proven track record in group consolidations and board-level reporting.
  • Experience with ERP/finance systems (NetSuite desirable) and driving process improvements.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, SME environment.
