Location and Travel

The position is anticipated to be home-based. Depending on the location and the preference of the successful candidate, it may be possible to work from one of ARP's offices in Barnsley, Bristol, or Central London. Occasional travel to these offices or to meet external colleagues and team members will be expected for home-based candidates.

The Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP) is an enduring organisation appointed by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to provide and upgrade emergency communications for UK ambulance services. ARP has over eighty staff across various disciplines, supporting a £460m programme of work nationwide. Our goal is to implement innovative technology that enhances patient care and prepares ambulance services for future developments like the Home Office’s Emergency Services Network (ESN).

Role Overview

ARP is introducing new technology-based services to Ambulance Trusts and Air Ambulance charities, including upgrades to the ambulance fleet and developing data-rich communication products for frontline staff. The Head of Commercial and Procurement will oversee procurement strategies and ensure the delivery of these critical services.
