Head of Construction

Weymouth, Dorset – Hybrid | £78,000–£85,000 + Bonus + Benefits

A growing UK-based engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Construction to lead a portfolio of UK and international projects.

This is a senior leadership role focused on programme delivery, operational strategy, and team development. You will take full ownership of project execution, resourcing, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation across a range of complex construction environments. The position plays a central part in shaping the organisation’s future capability and commercial growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing delivery of live construction projects under NEC4 ECC
• Overseeing budget, risk, resources, quality, and compliance across multiple sites
• Leading construction teams operating in overseas and austere environments
• Acting as senior point of contact for client, subcontractor, and stakeholder engagement
• Driving business development efforts and supporting bid submissions
• Reporting into the senior leadership team and shaping strategic planning

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in senior construction roles (Head of/Director level)
• In-depth understanding and application of NEC4 ECC contracts
• Background in international project delivery
• Strong track record of preparing tenders and cost estimates
• Confident use of CEMAR, I-Auditor or similar QA platforms
• Excellent leadership, commercial acumen, and stakeholder communication
• Degree or NVQ Level 7 in Construction Management or a CIOB-accredited qualification
• NEC4 Contract Accreditation

Desirable Experience

• CIOB-accredited qualification
• Defence sector or high-security infrastructure background
