The Role
We’re looking for aHead of Developmentto lead our growing development team and help shape the technical heart of Beep. Working closely with our CTO and CCO, you’ll ensure our code, platforms, and processes are robust, scalable, and future‑ready.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who loves coding as much as they love mentoring others. You’ll oversee project delivery across our stack, champion best practices, and collaborate with design and strategy teams to bring bold, creative ideas to life.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, strong on communication, and thrives on crafting high‑performing websites and experiences for global brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a small but growing team of front‑end and back‑end developers.
- Oversee and contribute to the development of high‑quality websites, digital platforms, and tools.
- Collaborate closely with the team to ensure best practices, scalability, and future‑focused technology decisions.
- Translate creative concepts into technical solutions using modern frameworks and workflows.
- Define, document, and evolve internal coding standards, QA processes, and deployment pipelines.
- Support cross‑functional collaboration with design, UX, and strategy teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
- Manage code reviews, sprint planning, and task prioritisation to keep projects on time and budget.
- Guide technical discovery, estimation, and architectural decisions for new client projects.
- Oversee API integrations and third‑party services to extend functionality and performance.
- Research emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and innovation.
Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of commercial experience in web development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Strong understanding of full‑stack development, infrastructure, and version control (GIT).
- Expertise in HTML5, SASS and JavaScript.
- Frameworks such as React, Laravel, Go and WordPress.
- Experience with Bootstrap, Tailwind, or custom frameworks.
- Solid grasp of PHP, MySQL, and API implementation.
- An understanding of animated and 3D interactive page elements.
- Confident working with tools such as Jira, Slack, Figma/XD, and Webflow.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, QA processes, and cross‑environment deployment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance technical detail and creative vision.
- Comfortable working in a Mac or PC environment using Google Workspace and Office 365.
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring others.

Salary: From £60,000 per annum DOE + Benefits
