Overview

Ada Meher is recruiting for a Head of Engineering & Infrastructure to lead a greenfield re-platforming and modernisation of two core SaaS products in the financial reporting space. The role offers autonomy to drive decisions on technical design and process implementations with board backing, and provides opportunities to leverage AI in both the product and development practices. There is potential for progression into a CTO role as the business scales. The role is based in Manchester with hybrid remote work and requires on-site presence 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead a greenfield re-platforming and modernisation of two core SaaS products to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Drive technology strategy, design decisions, and process implementations with autonomy and measurable goals, backed by the board.
• Lead the team in practical applications of AI within the product and development practices to improve speed and value delivery.
• Focus on delivering Speed, Security, Scalability and Stability across the platform.
• Support a Digital Transformation approach, incorporating modern technologies and practices (e.g., microservices, CI/CD, IaC, TDD and automation testing) as part of the SaaS roadmap.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Software Engineering (ideally PHP) or Infrastructure Engineering, with an appreciation for the other discipline.
• Experience implementing modern technology and practices in a SaaS business as part of a Digital Transformation.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security principles and frameworks (e.g., ISO / Cyber Essentials).
• Experience using AI as a product feature or as a development tool.
• Proven ability to deliver value with a focus on speed, security, scalability, and stability.
