Overview

Grafton Banks Finance is working with an SME manufacturing business, based near East Grinstead, to recruit its new Head of Finance. This business is a leader in its field and is part of a large group. The role reports to the CEO and will lead all accounting and financial matters for the division, managing a small team. The role partners the CEO and provides commercial support on decision making, with primary responsibility for maintaining first-class accounting and reporting into the group.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
• Manage annual audit and timely completion of consolidated statutory accounts.
• Manage the process of monthly management accounts and cost centre reports.
• Complete consolidated budgets, forecasts, and three-year plans.
• Ensure compliance for Corporation tax, PAYE settlement, and P11D returns.
• Oversee and review the monthly payroll process in collaboration with the HR and payroll team.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register and Asset Summary, update regularly to reflect asset acquisitions, disposals and movements; produce associated depreciation schedules.
• Prepare and consolidate Capital Expenditure and Depreciation budgets, forecasts and Three-Year Plans.
• Act as business partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing commercial support.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Technically strong qualified accountant; audit qualification would be an advantage.
• Manufacturing experience is essential, with SME experience highly regarded.
• Comfortable in a broad hands-on role and with managing small teams.
• Excellent organisation and strong stakeholder management skills.

Role Details

Location: near East Grinstead, England, United Kingdom

Salary: up to £100,000 plus 10% bonus; private healthcare and other benefits.

Working pattern: largely office based with 1 day per week working from home.
