Overview
Cambridge Econometrics is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking and collaborative Head of HR to lead our global HR function and support a positive employee experience across our international offices.
Cambridge Econometrics is a global independent economics consultancy that helps organisations across the public and private sectors make informed strategic and policy decisions. We do this by providing clear, intelligent and actionable insights through the effective use of evidence, economic analysis and modelling. We employ c70 people across our companies in Cambridge (UK), Brussels, Budapest and Northampton, Massachusetts.
About the role
This role combines HR leadership with hands-on delivery, focusing on how we attract, support, and develop our people in line with our values and business goals. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and manage a small HR team to ensure our people practices are inclusive, consistent, and responsive to the needs of our diverse workforce. From recruitment and onboarding to development, engagement, and well-being, you’ll help build a culture where people feel supported and able to do their best work.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring senior-level HR experience, a strategic mindset and the ability to identify HR priorities; presenting best-fit solutions credibly and concisely, and delivering on them effectively. You’ll be confident working independently, have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels and locations, both in person and virtually.
Your responsibilities
- Shaping and delivering the people strategy in alignment with the business plan and company values, partnering closely with senior leaders.
- Advising on organisational design, workforce planning, and leadership development, acting as a trusted partner on complex people matters.
- Leading inclusive recruitment and onboarding across global offices, ensuring a consistent and high-quality candidate experience.
- Supporting talent development, including career pathways and performance management, with a focus on building high-performing teams.
- Strengthening our employer brand and address skills gaps through targeted capability-building initiatives.
- Building an inclusive and engaging culture, developing strategies for employee engagement and well-being across a diverse workforce.
- Overseeing fair and competitive reward and recognition practices, balancing local and global needs.
- Ensuring efficient, compliant HR operations, including payroll, benefits and legal compliance.
You\'ll be required to work from our central Cambridge office a minimum of 2 days a week. Applications for part-time (minimum 80%) will be considered.
No agencies please.
All candidates are required to have the right to work in the UK.
