Head Of HR
New Today
Overview
Head of HR – £60,000 - £70,000 p/a depending on experience • Full time
We are looking for an experienced Head of HR to join the Marbrook/Ardale family. This opportunity will provide the right person with good potential for professional development and growth, and the chance to gain a broad insight into the running and operation of a successful independent healthcare organisation. The post holder will be a key member of the small, established senior management team involved collectively in making business decisions which extend beyond Human resource issues.
About the employer
We are a growing family run residential/nursing care business that operates under the brands of "Ardale" for our general nursing services and "Marbrook" for our specialist neurological care centre. Our care ethos is second to none; we do not skimp on costs or staffing levels like many care providers and as a result we have an excellent national reputation for the services we provide. Our homes are designed and built to the highest quality and make for a lovely work environment.
Responsibilities
You will provide people management support across all aspects of the employee life cycle and must have demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with managers and colleagues in order to mitigate organisational risks. Our current headcount is circa 360 and growing.
With excellent organisational and administration skills, you will ensure that generalist duties including disciplinary processes, grievances, absence management, performance management, and employee welfare support are delivered in line with our commitment to excellence and accuracy; you will be hands on for the more complex cases. You will need to be confident to use/maintain/report from the HRIS (Kronos).
Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you will lead our supportive, warm and high performing HR team which includes generalists, recruitment and administrators. The team works collaboratively, and you will need to be comfortable to lead and direct, as well as sometimes work hands on.
You will need to be independent and able to lead well, fostering a supportive and cooperative style at all times. This is mainly an on-site based role with occasional home working; your main base will be between our Herts, Beds or Rutland sites and you will need to travel across all sites as and when required.
