Head of Software Development - Immediate start

Location: Glasgow City, Hybrid (once a week onsite)

Salary/Rate: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum plus 10-15% bonus, free parking and more

Role purpose

The Head of Software Development at KURA/Inisoft is responsible for driving the technical vision and execution of software development projects and the day-to-day running of the team. This role leads design and implementation of high-quality software solutions, mentors the development team, and ensures the use of best practices. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to align technical outcomes with business goals, fosters a culture of innovation and excellence, troubleshoots complex technical challenges, and stays up-to-date with evolving technologies to enhance customer experience solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of high-quality software solutions for our products.
• Oversee and contribute to refactoring and optimisation of existing code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technical execution, balancing quality and delivery speed.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support the Head of Development in defining and implementing development standards across the team.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex technical challenges in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
• Stay ahead of the curve by researching and adopting the latest .NET technologies, cloud architectures, and industry best practices.
• Responsible for Technical Architecture Decisions.

Relationships

Build successful relationships with operational clients, client support functions, and manage the Inisoft team based within KURA.

Managerial Responsibility

Future line management responsibility for the development team.

Education And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 6 years of experience in software development using C# .NET, Vue.js, and SQL

Skills, Knowledge And Capability

• Extensive hands-on experience with C# and .NET Framework; strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
• Proven expertise in modern web technologies such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Solid experience building and architecting Microsoft Azure cloud solutions with a deep understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience leading and mentoring development teams.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions.
