Location: Remote - with Travel (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: Competitive, plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
The Head of Vendor Management & Partnerships is a pivotal leadership role within SCC, responsible for leading and developing the vendor management team, focusing on driving pipeline growth, engaging proactively with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendor sales and channel teams, and working with distribution partners to maximize margins.
This role ensures vendor strategies align with SCC’s goals and that the team delivers measurable commercial impact through high-performance execution, strategic alignment, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities:
- C-suite Collaboration: Collaborate with SCC’s executive leadership to align vendor initiatives with strategic goals and ensure seamless integration.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing vendor management team, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture. Conduct performance reviews and support personal growth.
- Vendor Engagement & Investment: Engage with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors for joint investment opportunities, marketing funding, and strategic initiatives. Act as escalation point for vendor issues.
- Branch Interlock & Sales Enablement: Drive alignment between vendor managers and SCC branch/account managers to support pipeline and customer engagement.
- Go-to-Market Strategy & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute growth plans for vendors, supporting initiatives that generate pipeline and revenue.
- Business Management & Forecasting: Oversee forecasting of rebates, incentives, and funding streams, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of financial performance.
- Support Distribution Relationship Management: Manage relationships with distribution partners to maximize incentives and optimize terms.
- Operational Excellence: Drive operational metrics including sales pipeline, project delivery, and margin recognition.
- Technology Strategy: Contribute to technology strategies supporting vendor portfolio and innovation.
- Product & Service Development: Support evolution of SCC’s software offerings via vendor-led products and services.
- Research & Development: Promote innovation to improve technologies and maintain competitiveness.
Skills and experience:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work across sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
- Channel Ecosystem Expertise: Experience within reseller or vendor channel ecosystems.
- Vendor Programme Execution: Skilled in running vendor initiatives and performance tracking.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of revenue strategies and vendor performance analysis.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent verbal and written skills to engage stakeholders.
- Negotiation & Relationship Management: Skilled in contracts and long-term relationship building.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret data and align strategies with business goals.
- Operational Discipline: Focus on process, compliance, and operational metrics.
- Technology & Market Awareness: Deep understanding of software and tech landscape.
- Quality Assurance & Problem-Solving: Focus on standards and resolving complex challenges.
- Leadership & Vendor Management: Proven senior leadership within tech or IT industries.
- Procurement & Vendor Collaboration: Experience in sourcing, licensing, and influencing vendors.
- Customer-Centric Mindset & Stakeholder Engagement: Focused on delivering value and managing relationships.
- Financial & Strategic Execution: Expertise in vendor economics and translating strategies into actions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use of performance data to inform strategies.
