Overview
Working for Glasgow City Council Chief Executives Department you will have specific responsibility for the management of the Corporate Health & Safety team and will be a key contributor in ensuring the development of the Health and Safety Management system across Glasgow City Council.
You will manage that arrangements to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation are in place and play a lead role in the development of Council Management Standards.
It is essential that applicants have extensive practical experience in the management of health and safety, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, team management and have the confidence to liaise with Senior Managers, providing advice and direction on all Health and Safety matters.
You must be qualified with NEBOSH diploma or equivalent, and Chartered Membership of IOSH is strongly desired. Applicants who can demonstrate they are working towards Chartered Membership of IOSH and are committed to attaining this, may apply.
