Overview

Health & Safety Advisor (HSE Advisor). Field-based role covering the Midlands to the North (occasional visits to Canary Wharf office and other UK sites). Up to £48,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits. Immediate Start.

The Role

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and contractor reviews.
  • Support and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks to employees and contractors.
  • Review project HSE documentation and contractor RAMS.
  • Drive HSE improvement initiatives across projects.
  • Promote a proactive, positive safety culture through engagement and communication.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills.

About You

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential).
  • Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice.
  • Utilities industry experience (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage with contractors.
  • Calm under pressure and capable of handling sensitive situations.
