My client is seeking an experienced HR Manager / HR Operations Manager that thrives in a fast-moving, multi-site environment. This role is working for a well-known Retail / Consumer business in London.

This role is all about driving efficiency, leading a team, and ensuring smooth people operations across both retail and head office functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the operational HR team (3-4 direct reports) whilst creating a high-performing and collaborative culture.
• Overseeing the full HR administration lifecycle – from onboarding to exit – ensuring seamless processes across multiple sites.
• Partnering with payroll, senior leaders, and managers to deliver effective people operations in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
• Managing key third-party relationships, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Driving HR projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and wellbeing initiatives.
• Managing employee relations case work.
• Proven experience managing HR operations in a fast-paced, multi-site setting (at least 50+ locations).
• Must come from a Consumer background (Retail / FMCG / Hospitality)
• Strong team leadership skills – able to mentor, motivate, and develop others.
• Confident in handling processes at scale, with an eye for detail and continuous improvement.
• A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to balance hands-on operations with strategic input.

You must be able to work at pace, covering a number of site across the UK. This role will report into the Chief People Officer and look after HR operations across the business, whilst also having several key partnering duties directly for the CPO.
