Location: Chester, hybrid working available
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + tax-free bonus + benefits
Type: Full-time, permanent
We are working with a leading employee-owned consultancy at the forefront of planning, environmental, and landscape design, to recruit a Town Planner for their growing team based near Chester.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a multidisciplinary firm known for delivering nationally significant projects in sectors such as renewable energy, carbon capture, energy from waste, urban regeneration, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for:
Preparing and submitting planning applications
Conducting planning appraisals and policy reviews
Supporting the drafting of Environmental Statements and Local Plan representations
Liaising with local authorities, consultants, clients, and stakeholders
Supporting senior staff on complex and large-scale development proposals

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred)
At least 2 years of experience in a planning role (private or public sector)
A good understanding of UK planning regulations and procedures
Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills
A proactive approach and collaborative mindset
Interest in working on environmentally focused and infrastructure-led projects
Chartered or working towards RTPI membership is preferred but not essential – you’ll receive full support for professional development.
Why Join?
This is a chance to be part of a company that’s not only shaping a more sustainable future – but one that’s built around employee ownership and shared success.
Benefits include:
Competitive salary and annual tax-free bonus through Employee Ownership Trust
Private healthcare and pension contributions
Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options
Payment of professional fees and support for chartership
Career progression opportunities across a national portfolio of high-profile projects
A collaborative, open culture where everyone’s voice counts
