Division – EMODepartment – Retail 4Team – Interventions TeamSalary – National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £47,200 to £59,000 and London £49,700 to £62,000 per annum (salary offered will be based on skills and experience) About the FCA The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. What will you be doing? Associate Lawyers in the Interventions Team provide legal advice to Supervision and Executive Decision Makers on a range of interventions across the full remit of the FCA’s work. Key Responsibilities
Progress a portfolio of demanding interventions often with tight deadlines Advise on evidential sufficiency, identify key legal and regulatory risks and make judgements and recommendations Draft intervention documentation (including statutory notices, legal advice notes and Tribunal documents) Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other areas at all levels within the FCA and with external bodies Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing

Qualified lawyer, with a valid practising certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for England and Wales (if a solicitor), or the General Council of the Bar for England and Wales (if a barrister) (or a similar internationally recognised qualification)

Analysis of complex evidence in order to form a view as to what action is warranted, what further evidence may be required/available and how it might be obtained Learn about new or novel legal issues quickly and with enthusiasm, with the necessary oversight and support of colleagues Deliver pragmatic outcome-focused advice and create solutions Advise in a confident and reasoned manner and challenge appropriately Work at pace and under pressure to deliver a variety of competing workstreams and prioritise effectively to meet agreed deadlines Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing Exercise own judgement and defend those judgements where necessary and appropriate Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other business units and with external bodies Thrive whilst managing a varied, dynamic and urgent caseload, maintaining appropriate progress across the portfolio of cases
