WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our locations.

This is a Senior Infrastructure Specialist role leading the Data Networks team within Network Services (which is part of the Core Infrastructure platform). Our mission is to provide network services that are always on, secure and ready for tomorrow. Supporting the Group and the wider UK in driving forward the sustainability agenda is a key focus.
Our mission entails a journey to transform our core technology architecture and enhance the technical capabilities of our colleagues whilst embedding DevOps and Agile working practices to enable feature teams to increase autonomy and effectiveness.
Leading a team of Data Specialists, you will:
Design, develop and integrate Data solutions and services to achieve our goals.
Promote and enable the continuous enhancement of networks processes through automation and orchestration.
Identify opportunities to reduce operating and change costs, enhancechange accuracy, and adopt innovative approaches to how we deliver change and service.
Act as a technical leader within the team, sharing your experience and expertise. You will be a mentor and influence a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure our people and processes are prepared for the future. By aligning with bank and network strategies, you will contribute to how we transform Networks.
Bring consideration and confidence to complex Data solution decisions, ensuring alignment with industry practices and group technology policies to ensure solutions are engineered to be reliable, scalable, performant, accessible, and secure.

What you’ll need
Experience of leading an engineering team. Managing risk, meeting security standards, and prioritising the need to maintain and protect service versus the need to transform capabilities and experiences.
Extensive experience in enterprise Data Network operations, with exposure to a range of technologies including Cisco Wi-Fi, ACI Technologies, SD-WAN, and network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Sev-1
Experience of Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling with proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, Harness, Ansible & Terraform,
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience creating and maintaining product roadmaps, managing down technical debt, maintaining the health of production instances and creating the space to develop the skills needed by the target technology architecture.
Abilities in ownership, for unblocking technical challenges and having a forward view to prove new patterns and technical solutions ready for full use.
