Who are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Specialist to lead their Data Networks team.

This role offers the chance to shape the future of enterprise networking during a time of major transformation. You'll be responsible for driving innovation, automation, and resilience across critical network platforms that underpin the bank's services, while mentoring a skilled team and ensuring the network is secure, scalable, and future-ready.

About the Role

As Senior Infrastructure Specialist for Data Networks, you'll provide technical leadership and direction to a team of Data Specialists, ensuring the design, integration, and delivery of cutting-edge solutions. You'll play a central role in modernising network services, embedding Agile and DevOps practices, and creating an environment that supports autonomy, innovation, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor the Data Networks team, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical growth.
  • Design, develop, and integrate enterprise data network solutions to meet strategic goals.
  • Champion automation and orchestration to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs, improve service accuracy, and adopt new approaches to change and service delivery.
  • Act as a trusted technical leader, guiding the design of reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions aligned to industry best practice.
  • Contribute to the bank's transformation by aligning platforms, people, and processes to modern architectures and strategic direction.
  • Provide confidence and clarity in complex decision-making, ensuring technical solutions are robust and enterprise-ready.

Key Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a combination of deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a forward-looking mindset. We're looking for:

  • Leadership experience - Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage risk, meet security standards, and balance operational stability with transformation goals.
  • Data networking expertise - Extensive experience in enterprise-scale data network operations, with exposure to Cisco Wi-Fi, ACI Technologies, SD-WAN, and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Sev-1.
  • Automation & IaC - Proficiency with automation and Infrastructure as Code tooling, ideally with Python, Harness, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Collaboration & communication - Strong skills in engaging stakeholders, building relationships, and influencing both technical and business decisions.
  • Strategic planning - Experience creating and maintaining product roadmaps, managing technical debt, and ensuring the long-term health of production services.
  • Innovation & problem-solving - A proactive approach to unblocking technical challenges, exploring new patterns, and preparing solutions for enterprise adoption.

Salary

Up to £106k depending on experience

Hybrid

2 days per week in either Manchester or Leeds offices.
