Overview

Lead Platform Product Manager role at Department for Business and Trade. You will lead the transformation of the DBT Platform to be robust, secure, scalable and efficient, owning the roadmap to align with the department’s digital transformation goals. This is a technical and strategically critical role within the Technology portfolio, collaborating with technical architects, engineering leads, cyber security, platform users and senior Civil Service leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of the DBT platform to ensure long-term resilience and scalability
  • Deliver a future-state platform while maintaining stability and continuity of existing services
  • Develop and own a compelling product vision and roadmap balancing user needs, technical capabilities and business value
  • Champion agile delivery and DevOps culture across multiple teams, embedding modern engineering practices
  • Represent the platform at senior boards with clear, strategic updates and influence decision-making
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of experienced product managers, fostering high performance and continuous improvement

Essential experience

  • Proven experience leading platform and/or infrastructure products at scale
  • Strong technical literacy with cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and large-scale web operations (SaaS/PaaS)
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders including senior levels and engaging with users to identify common needs and priorities
  • Experience applying agile methodologies in fast-paced, evolving environments and enabling rapid delivery
  • Experience developing and communicating product strategy to secure funding, including drafting business cases and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
