Overview
Lead Product Manager – Outside IR35 – Remote Government. Product Strategy GDS Standards Stakeholder Engagement Coaching & Mentoring Public Sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of a diverse digital product portfolio, acting as the strategic point of escalation for delivery teams
- Provide product leadership and direction to achieve key programme milestones across health, science, and national service projects
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of digital strategies and operating models
- Support the Head of Digital Products & Services to identify and prioritise continuous improvement opportunities
- Coach and mentor Senior Product Managers, developing them towards Lead Product Manager roles
- Embed Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and strengthen product capability across the organisation
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of a permanent Lead Product Manager, ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer
Skills/Experience
- Extensive experience in digital product leadership within large, complex portfolios
- Proven track record of working with senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Skilled at driving product strategy and balancing long-term vision with short-term delivery
- Deep experience embedding GDS Service Standards and operating models across product teams
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a focus on growing internal capability
- Comfortable working across multiple concurrent digital services, each at different phases of the lifecycle (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live)
