Overview

Lead Solutions Architect at Databricks in the EMEA region. You will join the Field Engineering organisation, work side-by-side with Databricks’ strategic customers, partner with regional leaders and account teams, and apply your track record of Data & AI transformation within large global institutions. You will drive global, cross-industry adoption of the Lakehouse architecture through sustained thought leadership at the CXO level and serve as a trusted advisor to top customers, providing experience of large-scale data transformation to guarantee success using the Databricks platform.

This is a high-impact role with responsibilities including supporting strategic sales opportunities with account teams, following industry trends to shape engineering and product priorities, and evangelising Databricks solutions at industry conferences, trade shows, and with industry press and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Have direct involvement with our most strategic customers and partners, building trusted relationships with the C-suite and technical stakeholders; participate in executive briefing sessions and lead co-innovation projects
  • Translate Voice of the Customer to help deliver best-in-class products and solutions to Industry customers
  • Identify industry trends, functional requirements and technical gaps to partner with product management for prioritisation
  • Help drive repeatability by creating Databricks industry-specific technical selling assets (C-suite guides and lessons, reference architectures, use cases, demos, customer case studies and solutions)
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional System Integration partners to jointly define Databricks-centric offerings
  • Contribute to industry marketing activities such as webinars, conferences, blogs, etc.
  • Engage with regional go-to-market leaders and account teams to ensure we are the strategic partner guiding customers through their Data & AI transformation
  • Work closely with regional sales and technical leaders to elevate the account strategy to support the C-suite through Data & AI transformation
  • Coach and enable regional account teams on how to engage the C-suite; leverage extensive C-suite networks to build new connections with customer leadership
  • Collaborate with the industry go-to-market team to prioritise industry-specific capabilities in future product roadmaps and drive Databricks’ industry sector product vision into the market

Qualifications

  • Experience leading Data & AI transformation within at least one company, ideally at the C level
  • Well-versed in security, compliance, legal and regulatory challenges across industry verticals
  • Broad experience with strategy or execution of technical and design direction, including large-scale database/data warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and public cloud technologies
  • Understanding of Data Science & Machine Learning concepts and applications to the business
  • Prominent in CIO Fora and CDO forums (or similar) with good C-level connections across EMEA
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences
  • Experience working with C-level executives and the ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred
