Overview

This is a full-time or part-time in-house Commercial Legal Counsel opportunity in Cambridgeshire, offering hybrid working (approximately 2 days in the office). The role supports a growing in-house legal team by handling a broad range of commercial contracts and providing practical legal guidance.

The Work

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts (NEC4, IT, energy, outsourcing, consultancy, and more)
  • Advising on contract risk, procurement issues, and regulatory compliance
  • Supporting business units with practical legal guidance on day-to-day matters
  • Collaborating with the wider legal team to deliver consistent, solution-oriented service
  • Contributing to the development of internal legal processes and templates

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitors (England & Wales), ideally with a minimum of 2 years experience (will consider recently qualified SQE candidates with good experience), Legal Executives or Barrister.
  • Experience working on a broad range of commercial agreements, including reviewing, negotiating and drafting NDA s, terms of business, supply contracts, construction contracts (JCT/NEC), IT/SaaS agreements, and procurement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with non-legal colleagues
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to deliver pragmatic, risk-aware legal advice
  • Based within commuting distance of Cambridgeshire and open to hybrid working (approximately 2 days in-office)
