£60,000 - £70,000 DOE – Cambridge based with a very good hybrid set up. Permanent | Full‑time

Our client, an exciting and evolving tech company, is looking to hire a Legal Operations Manager to join their growing team.

What You’ll Do

Reporting into the Chief Strategy and Legal Officer you’ll be the lynch pin of the legal and compliance team. You’ll be integral to ensuring the department delivers on its objectives and the company’s wider growth trajectories. This is very much a generalist role, so someone who is happy to take on a range of duties and responsibilities and is as comfortable working on large‑scale projects as they are arranging team meetings. You’ll be proactive in identifying areas of improvement and increasing efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve legal department operations.
  • Administrative support at Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel level working globally including planning team meetings, minute taking and inbox management.
  • Managing the legal department's external budgets, monitoring and forecasting.
  • Managing technology solutions to improve department efficiency.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure company alignment with the broader business goals and initiatives.
  • Preparing reports for senior management to aid in decision‑making.
  • Overseeing legal and compliance project – timelines and budgets.
  • Support with company secretarial work, for example board meeting preparation.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in managing budgets, including forecasting, financial analysis, vendor & law firm management, reporting & metrics and accounting.
  • Experience in driving initiatives that promote cross‑functional communication, team working and knowledge sharing.
  • Experience of company secretarial processes, corporate governance, and statutory compliance is an advantage.
  • Top‑level organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and in a changing environment.
  • Senior stakeholders management experience.
  • Ideally will have experience working across OR projects within a scale‑up and/or PE‑backed business.
  • An understanding of legal contracting and compliance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of technologies such as PowerPoint, Excel, the use of GAI and other such systems.
  • Experience in developing best practice in area of expertise.
