Role Summary And Impact

Month-end process and Year-end variance analysis. Manage monthly management accounts reconciled to the trial balance, calculate accruals using IFRS principles, and prepare journals. Lead monthly variance analysis against budget/forecast and provide exception reporting. Ensure all supporting schedules tie back to the main P&L and Balance Sheet, and own the month-end file to maintain ICFR compliance. Provide all relevant information to auditors for SOX, interim and year-end audits.

  • Own preparation of monthly Management Accounts reconciled to TB
  • Calculation of accruals, using IFRS principles and preparation of journals
  • Lead monthly variance analysis (by comparing to budget/forecast) and exception reporting
  • Action any queries post-month-end
  • Ensuring all supporting schedules tie back to the main P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Ownership of the preparation of the month-end file, ensuring compliance with ICFR
  • Provide all relevant information to the auditors for SOX, interim and year-end audit

Group / WPP Reporting

  • Prepare management & external numbers and supporting schedules for reporting
  • Liaise with EMEA to resolve reporting queries
  • Submit commentaries to EMEA on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and year-end packages

Other and Periodic

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX requirements
  • Continuously review current processes to improve controls and efficiencies
  • Handle ad hoc queries with Finance Plus
  • Take part in ad hoc projects as directed by FC or Finance Leads

  • Part-qualified/newly qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Intermediate level of Excel
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Strong communication & relationship-building skills
  • Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude; able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience working with DDS / Media Ocean
  • Experience working with BFC
