The Job:

We are delighted to be assisting them with their vacancy for a Marketing Communications Manager, reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering and coordinating a wide range of marketing communications projects, while line-managing a Marketing Communications Assistant. The position requires a balance of project ownership and people management — you’ll personally deliver much of the work while providing support, delegation, and guidance to ensure outputs meet the highest standard.

You’ll play a central role in ensuring all advertising, public relations, events, and communication activities support their brand and commercial objectives. Strong organisational skills, excellent copywriting, and the ability to manage projects end-to-end will be key.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Line-managing, coaching, and developing the Marketing Communications Assistant
  • Writing, editing, and distributing press releases, case studies, and articles
  • Building strong media relationships and monitoring coverage
  • Planning and managing advertising campaigns (print), including artwork production and media buying
  • Project-managing catalogues, brochures, and customer-specific collateral
  • Managing print production, suppliers, and budgets to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Overseeing third-party relationships with agencies and contractors
  • Supporting research projects and presenting actionable insights
  • Managing the image library, usage rights, and lifestyle photoshoots
  • Organising exhibitions and events, including logistics, design, and follow-up
  • Acting as brand guardian to ensure consistency across all materials
  • Managing allocated budgets, tracking ROI, and supporting wider cross-functional marketing projects

The Person:

For this role, they are looking for a proven Marketing Communications professional with strong hands-on project management and copywriting skills. You’ll be confident managing multiple projects simultaneously and experienced in working with suppliers, agencies, and media partners.

Essential experience includes:

  • Hands-on experience in a Marketing Communications role
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Proven PR and advertising campaign management
  • Catalogue and collateral production experience
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Supplier and negotiation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Asana preferred but not essential
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g. Dot Mailer)
  • Some people management or mentoring experience
  • Organising events and exhibitions
  • CRM systems and digital marketing tools
  • B2B or retail/manufacturing sector background
  • Hands-on, delivery-focused, and action-oriented
  • Organised, structured, and detail-driven
  • Proactive, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Confident communicator across stakeholders, media, and suppliers
  • A collaborative team player who supports colleagues
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure
  • Commercially aware with a creative approach

The Location:

Cheddar, Somerset (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home).
