About the Role

This role sits at the heart of an exciting new venture between Jameel Motors and GAC, established to introduce the AION range of intelligent electric vehicles to the UK market.

As part of the launch team, you will help establish and grow AION Auto UK combining GAC’s cutting‑edge EV innovation with Jameel Motors’ deep automotive expertise to deliver a new benchmark in electric mobility.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the brand’s presence from the ground up — contributing to strategy, execution, and the creation of a customer experience that reflects the innovation, intelligence, and ambition behind AION.

We’re looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager with automotive experience who will develop and implement a content and media strategy to drive awareness, consideration and customer acquisition for the AION brand. This includes management of partner agencies to deliver on‑and offline creative campaigns (content and media) and media buying. The Marketing and Communications Manager is also responsible for partnerships and retail marketing creating a 360‑plan (above and below the line).

This is more than a position in a new company; it’s an opportunity to be part of a defining moment in the UK’s transition to intelligent, sustainable mobility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing and Comms Plan: Create and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan aligned with AION Auto UK’s business objectives and marketing strategy, focusing on brand awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition.
  • Brand Development: Establish and maintain a strong, consistent brand image across all platforms and materials, ensuring alignment with AION Auto’s values, mission, and market positioning.
  • Creative Direction: Develop all creative assets in line with the brand guidelines.
  • Content Creation: Produce compelling content tailored to different audiences, supporting both external communications and internal messaging.
  • Budget: Prepare and manage the budgets for marketing and communications, including appointment and management of agencies.
  • Reporting and KPIs: Establish a process and reporting system to track ROI of campaigns, and use analytics tools to measure effectiveness, optimise strategies, and report results to leadership.
  • Brand Awareness: Deliver improvement on brand metrics including brand awareness, brand consideration and purchase intent.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Degree level or equivalent with strong experience in marketing and communications roles, with at least four years in management of these activities, ideally within the automotive, mobility, tech, or startup sectors. Proven track record working with agencies.
  • Leadership skills: Selecting and managing agencies, including writing briefs for creative and media, and critiquing responses. Hands‑on management of agencies, through influence and experience to deliver outcomes within time and budget plans.
  • Brand Growth: Proven track record in building, launching, and evolving brand identity and messaging across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Soft Skills: Strong teamwork capabilities, proactive approach, goal‑oriented mindset, excellent communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Resilience: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth startup environment where innovation, adaptability, and self‑direction are essential.
