Base pay range: Band 6 | £38,682 – £46,580 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Location: Meadowfield Hospital, Swandean, Worthing. Permanent role | 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week | Flexible working available.

This is the Sussex Mental Healthline, a 24/7 NHS crisis line supporting people of all ages experiencing mental health difficulties. The service is expanding and seeking experienced, compassionate clinicians who want to make a meaningful impact.

This is a rota-based role, covering 37.5 hours per week (full time). Current shift patterns are:

• Early: 07:00 – 15:00
• L1 (Late): 13:00 – 21:00
• L4 (Late): 16:00 – 00:00
• Night: 20:45 – 07:15

(Part-time and flexible working options are available, but some evening, night and weekend shifts are essential. Enhanced pay rates apply for unsocial hours under Agenda for Change.)

Responsibilities

• Provide triage, risk assessments and support to people in crisis
• Supervise and support call operators with complex calls
• Work with urgent care services across Sussex to ensure safe, timely care
• Use your clinical expertise to help people identify problems, cope in the moment, and access the right support

What we’re looking for

• Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist (NMC, HCPC or Social Work England)
• Significant experience in risk assessment and clinical interventions
• Skilled at working in fast-paced crisis settings
• Flexible to cover shift patterns across a 24/7 rota
