The Team

We’re launching a bold new energy venture and we’re looking for a dynamic Metering Manager will oversee the creation and execution of new smart metering processes and capabilities for a new energy venture. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future, build your own team, and play a key role in a high-impact initiative within New Business & Net Zero.

We work in a hybrid, Flexible First way—typically spending 1–2 days a week in the office. However, this role will require someone who’s comfortable flexing their schedule as needed to meet the demands of the job. The Job

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this role places a strong emphasis on delivering reliable, seamless smart meter experiences for customers, aligned with the ethos of the new energy venture.

You’ll ensure compliance with industry standards while managing both internal teams and third-party performance across all areas of Metering and Data Flows.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of all metering activities for the new energy venture. This includes leveraging internal capabilities and potentially overseeing third-party metering service providers such as MAM, MOP, and MAP.

  • Oversee operational performance across all metering functions.

  • Serve as the key liaison with industry bodies and systems concerning metering performance.

  • Drive timely resolution of errors, always prioritizing customer outcomes.

  • Lead performance governance across senior internal and external stakeholders, delivering reporting and insights to support informed decision-making.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership in a metering role within retail energy supply, with a track record of fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • In-depth experience in retail energy supply and a strong grasp of industry regulations and operational processes.

  • Solid understanding of supply licence conditions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Mandatory Half-Hourly Settlement programme and broader industry metering requirements.

  • Skilled problem solver with the ability to adapt strategies and improve performance through data-driven insights.

  • Passionate about innovation and delivering customer-focused solutions.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • A positive, “can-do” attitude with experience thriving in start-up or scale-up settings.

  • A natural leader who inspires and develops high-performing teams.
