We are looking for a Musculoskeletal Clinical Governance Lead to support our quality and Clinical Governance functions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and develop Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement/Management activities, including strategy development and proposing policy/service changes to enhance clinical governance and quality.
  • Lead the development and production of quality and safety reports.
  • Provide detailed and specialized Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance/Management advice to healthcare professionals.
  • Represent the Quality and Clinical Governance Team, offering expert guidance and specialist knowledge based on theory and experience.
  • Analyze complex data to identify areas for continuous improvement, design data capture systems, and present options for advancement of Clinical Governance activities.
  • Lead complaint and incident investigations, and respond to complaints to support service excellence.
  • Identify, coordinate and lead continual improvement projects to reduce risk, improve patient outcomes and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Aid the Quality & Clinical Governance Director & Senior Compliance Manager with ISO9001 internal audits.
  • Improve visibility and understanding of Quality Improvement across the organization and encourage colleague engagement.
  • Utilize and contribute to the Quality Assurance and Improvement Group, ensuring recommendations/actions are communicated effectively.
  • Perform root cause analysis, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze dashboard and patient feedback data to identify trends/themes, collaborate with the MSK team for required actions.
  • Provide leadership on patient experience and involvement, ensuring patient feedback informs continuous improvement.
  • Support the Audit function and framework review.

Qualifications

  • Physiotherapist as a core profession.
  • MSK experience.
  • Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement experience and training.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Driving improvement in the quality of MSK services.
  • Significant experience working within musculoskeletal services.
  • Leading significant projects that resulted in quantifiable improvements.
  • Conducting complaint investigations, writing complaint responses, and formulating action plans.
  • Experience of Quality Improvement Methodology and approaches in physiotherapy.
  • Well-developed decision-making and change management skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Management Systems, Risk Management, Clinical Effectiveness, or Standards Review/development.
  • Experience in continual improvement, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and risk management.
  • Collating and analysing data to identify trends.
  • Presenting data for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implementing innovative solutions in partnership with colleagues to improve services.
  • Acting in ways that support equality and value diversity in accordance with legislation, policies, procedures, and good practice.
  • Good understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding Processes.
