NCEA Land Access Database Technical Lead - 31738

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering an operationally vital part of the Environment Agency’s Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) Programme — a flagship initiative shaping how we understand and manage the water environment. The Programme supports Defra's wider NCEA programme in building a groundbreaking evidence base on the state and value of our natural environment and ecosystems to transform environmental decision-making in England.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical specialist for the Land Access Database, overseeing all aspects of landowner access for monitoring networks within the programme.
  • Maintain landowner data in compliance with Environment Agency and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations specialists to ensure delivery aligns with programme goals and timelines, and maintain strong cross-team relationships.
  • Provide expert technical leadership through training, guidance, and optimisation of data management processes.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot access and programme delivery challenges.
  • Be adaptable and proactive in responding to evolving priorities.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience with geospatial data, interacting with internal and external customers, and managing datasets.
  • Strong data management and GIS skills, maintaining landowner datasets and spatial analyses for NCEA networks.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to ensure best possible access arrangements for monitoring networks.
  • Ability to develop networks, work on projects and programmes, and collaborate with diverse colleagues and partners.

Other information
