Overview

hackajob is collaborating with Computershare to connect them with exceptional tech professionals for the NOC Analyst role in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Location: Edinburgh, Hybrid. The role requires you to be based in the Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week.

Computershare has an excellent opportunity to join our Global Tech Support (GTS) department in Edinburgh, which supports IT systems and employees across global sites. You will work with multiple business lines and contribute to the stability and performance of critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring infrastructure and network performance using advanced tools to detect and respond to issues in real time.
  • Responding to alerts and incidents, escalating appropriately, and collaborating with the wider team to restore service quickly and efficiently.
  • Identifying and resolving critical incidents within agreed SLAs to minimize impact and downtime.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by spotting opportunities for process optimisation and automation.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues across servers, networks, and applications.
  • Maintaining infrastructure integrity through routine checks, updates, and documentation.
  • Logging, categorising, and prioritising global incidents, ensuring timely and accurate response.
  • Performing routine tasks using Linux command-line systems to maintain operational consistency.
  • Carrying out system operations on critical core services, including monitoring overnight batch processes and responding to alerts, escalating as necessary.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with teams across the organisation to support incident resolution and service delivery.
  • Using monitoring tools to generate reports that support data-driven decisions and service enhancements.
  • Keeping procedures and documentation current and communicating updates clearly to the team.
  • Adhering to internal and external audit requirements, business regulations, and service level agreements in all work carried out by the Global Service Centre.

What you will bring

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to triage and provide first-time fixes.
  • Experience in a technical environment, ideally within a NOC, IT support, or systems administration role.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line operations; understanding of ITIL frameworks is advantageous.
  • A passion for continual learning and professional development; a collaborative mindset with a focus on service improvement and innovation.
  • Proficiency in Linux with strong command-line skills.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Zscaler ZDX, AlertSite, SolarWinds, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork, with the confidence to contribute to technical discussions and incident calls.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in a technical environment (NOC, IT support, or systems administration).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in weekend rotation (2 in every 4 weekends).
  • Initial 4-week induction in the office (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm), with subsequent shift patterns continuing thereafter (likely 4 or 5 on, 4 or 5 off). Shift patterns may include 12-hour day and night shifts.
