Functional Assessor. Are you a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist looking for a rewarding role that offers an excellent work/life balance?

What we’re looking for

  • A minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist.
  • Valid PIN and full registration on the NMC or HCPC, with no conditions or restrictions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, show empathy, and explore further by using open questions, when required.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to targets and maintain the quality of reports.
  • A good level of computer literacy and to be comfortable with typing.
  • A passion for working with and supporting people with both mental and physical health conditions.
  • A strong knowledge of long-term and chronic conditions, with experience across medical, chronic illness and acute settings.

What will you be doing?

You will be assessing individuals holistically, to understand their needs and requirements, to obtain the Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Completing in-depth health assessments followed by a non-biased and evidence-based report. You will be using your clinical expertise to assess and analyse medical evidence, assessing individuals online and face to face.

  • Work closely with claimants to ensure that they are fully informed during the assessment process, managing their expectations and being empathetic during a difficult situation.

As a Functional Assessor you will receive

  • Salary up to £41,250 with bonus attached.
  • Extensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success in the role.
  • Flexible hybrid working model – carry out assessments from home and in a local assessment centre.
  • Working hours – Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends.
  • 31 days annual leave including bank holidays.
