We are working with an extremely cool start up in the UK which has established links to a similar business in the US. It puts on a huge event each year and this years initial event was incredibly successful. Now a proven succcessful concept, they are bringing some of finance in house (already in place is a CFO). This is the perfect role for someone who would love to work in a fun start up, reporting to a brilliant lady we have known for a decade and someone who would really bring you on in your career.

This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a fast-paced, creative organisation where finance isn’t just about the numbers – it’s about enabling great ideas to come to life.

The Role

Reporting directly into the CFO, this role will be the bridge between the organisation and their outsourced finance partners. You’ll take ownership of management accounts, provide insight to the business, and ensure financial operations run smoothly as they prepare for one of London’s most exciting cultural moments.

You’ll also line-manage up to two interim Accounts Payable staff during the year, giving you leadership experience while staying hands-on with key financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the business partner to outsourced finance providers, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Own and review monthly management accounts, ensuring variances are understood and communicated clearly to senior leadership
  • Deliver variance analysis and financial insights to support decision-making across the business
  • Support compliance and any external reporting requirements
  • Oversee and support two interim Accounts Payable roles, ensuring smooth supplier management and payments during peak periods
  • Contribute to building robust financial processes and controls as the organisation scales
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic projects, sponsorships, and event planning

About You

Our client is looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, creative environment and enjoys working across teams. You’ll be detail-driven yet commercially aware, with the confidence to act as a trusted advisor to colleagues and senior leaders alike.

  • Part- or fully-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong management accounting experience, ideally in a project- or event-based organisation
  • Excellent variance analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong communication skills – able to translate finance into clear, actionable insight
  • Comfortable working in a small but fast-paced environment, where processes and controls are still being established – and will benefit from your input
