RECfinancial is currently seeking a Temporary Payroll Clerk to join a well-established UK-based organisation in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive and empowering finance team within a company that genuinely values its employees.
In this full-time, hybrid role (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week), the Temporary Payroll Clerk will be crucial in supporting the finance function and ensuring the smooth operation of daily payroll activities.
This role is commutable from all over Leicester, Leicestershire.
Main role of Payroll Clerk
The Payroll Officer will manage the complete payroll lifecycle, offering support to the HR & Payroll Assistant and the wider team. This diverse and demanding role promises to be fulfilling for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Clerk
- Processing multiple payrolls and pension submissions for a varied team.
- Accurate calculation of all pay calculations and deductions.
- Ensuring Year-End procedures are run accurately and on time.
- Responsible for the uploading of BACS payments in a timely manner.
- Reviewing the posting of monthly payroll journals.
- Resolving any payroll issues, resolving discrepancies and implementing solutions whenever possible.
- Submitting accurate HMRC returns
- Staying up to date with all legislative updates
- Completing weekly Payroll reporting and analysis
- Administration of any employee benefits i.e. pensions and life assurance.
- Supporting and reporting on the administration of pension contributions and auto-enrolment
- Plus ad hoc Finance duties.
Skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar level Payroll role is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self disciplined, with good time management skills and the ability to manage and prioritise various tasks.
- Team player, supportive of departmental colleagues
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Sage Payroll or similar systems
