Overview
Payroll Specialist — Manchester (contract). We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and reporting, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident working independently.
Responsibilities
- Process end‑to‑end payroll for UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure timely updates to employee data.
- Handle payroll queries from employees and liaise with HR and Finance teams.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, NI, pensions, and holiday pay.
- Support implementation of payroll system improvements or transitions if required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in UK payroll processing (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in UK payroll processing (minimum 2 years).

- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, or similar).
