Payroll Team Leader

12-month Fixed-term Contract

Location: Norwich based (50% hybrid working)

Salary: circa £30,000 - £35,000

A bit about the job:

As Payroll Team Leader, you’ll lead a team of Payroll Advisers to ensure colleagues are paid accurately and on time, every time. You’ll manage day-to-day operations, oversee resource planning, and act as a key point of contact for complex queries. You’ll also produce and analyse monthly MI to support quality assurance and team development. Working closely with HR, Finance, and external partners, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining compliance, improving processes, and supporting Aviva’s commitment to operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

Skills & experience we're looking for:

• Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams, ideally in a service delivery or operational environment.
• Strong organisational and resource planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
• Analytical mindset, with experience using MI and data to inform decisions and drive performance.
• Payroll knowledge is desirable, but not essential—what matters most is your ability to learn quickly and lead effectively.
